Learn how to make Chatpate Modak, a savoury modak recipe by Chef Ruchi Bharani <br /> <br />For the ongoing Ganesh Chaturthi festival, let us give a savoury twist to the traditional modak recipe. This quick, easy to cook and delicious recipe by Ruchi Bharani will surely add a new and different taste to this festive season. <br /> <br />Ingredients: <br />7-8 Puris (ready to use, ones used in Sev puri or roughly chopped peanuts) <br />3 small pieces of cooked and grated sweet potatoes <br />1 cup vegetables as per choice/availability – finely chopped and steamed french beans, carrots, finely chopped capsicum, boiled green peas <br />Finely chopped coriander leaves <br /> <br />Seasoning <br />1/4 tsp Garam masala <br />1/4 tsp Roasted cumin seed powder <br />1/2 tsp Red chilli powder <br />1tsp Amchur (raw mango powder) <br />Salt to taste <br />1tsp Corn starch (for binding) <br />Oil for frying <br /> <br />Method: <br />-Take the puris in a ziplock plastic bag and smash them using a rolling pin. <br />-In a bowl, take the smashed puris, add the boiled and grated sweet potatoes. <br />-Add all the vegetables and finely chopped coriander leaves. <br />-Add all the seasoning ingredients, salt & corn starch. <br />-Mix all the ingredients well & using a mould, shape the mixture into modaks. <br />-Fry them in hot oil, on a high flame till golden. <br />-Chatpate Modaks are ready to serve. <br /> <br />Director: Narayan Thakur <br />Camera: Kavaldeep Singh Jangwal, Akshay Durgule, Narayan Thakur <br />Editing: Dinesh Shetty <br />Creative Head: Kavya Krishnaswamy <br />Producer: Rajjat A.
